What is important about samples?
Bamboo, Cork and Hardwood floors are beautiful and unique products of nature which are characterized by distinctive variations in grain and color. Samples for bamboo flooring, in particular, are being supplied to give representation of finish and quality of manufacturing. I am interested in purchasing a product I found at another store but I do not see it on your site, Can you give me a price on it?
No sorry, we only sell the products that we have listed on the web site. Many stores carry similar products and many brands have multiple styles names for a single style. Carpet styles within the brands we carry and what local retailers or home stores carry will often have the same brand names but different style names. We do not offer style cross over assistance and will not attempt to match styles that you may have seen elsewhere to what we carry, even if it is the same brand that we sell. With our carpet brands, we simply sell the styles that we have on our website and that are it.
Do you sell carpet padding?
At this time we only sell the carpet. Padding is very expensive to ship and any saving you would recognize from purchasing pad online quickly evaporates.
Do you send samples of the carpeting?
At this time the carpet mills do not send samples of the carpets. For this reason we do not provide samples of the carpet styles that we have online.
Which underlayments should I use?
You will find information on each underlayment that we offer in our web site.
Which trims do I use and when do I use them?
There are so many trim pieces available. Where do I use them all?
Here is a list of the most common trims available from the various major manufactures and where you would use them.
- Floor transitions
- T-molding: The t-molding is used for door or transition areas where the two flooring types are of similar height. The two flooring type must be "hard surface", do not use to transition from hard floors to carpet. the t-molding covers the edge of each floor allowing for a fairly smooth transition.
- End cap/square nose: Use this floor transition when meeting up to exterior doors including sliding doors as well as when meeting up to carpeting in doorways or transition areas.
- Reducer: a reducer does just what it says. It is used in doorways or transitions and reduces from the new floor down to floor that are lower. A typical example would be transitioning down from a new laminate flooring or hardwood flooring to a vinyl floor.
- Stair nose (overlap): This transition is used on stairs and covers the edge of the step. It sets right over the floor. Stair nose (flush mount): This transition is used on stairs and will have a tongue or groove that matches the floor it is being used with. This trim does not set on the floor rather it attaches to the floor for a flush transition on the step.
